Who We Are: How we choose schools
Positive Planet's success has been built on strong partnerships between our Ugandan and American school communities. All of our Ugandan schools are Universal Primary Education or U.P.E. schools. U.P.E. schools are free, government supported schools which serve the poorest of Uganda's children. While the Ugandan government is committed to a free primary education for all of its children, these schools lack the basic resources required to deliver on this promise. Our American sister schools represent the broad diversity of the City of New York. They are public and private, secular and religious in their mission. Each of our school communities share a deep commitment to making a difference in the lives of the children in their sister school while enriching their own students' lives by teaching the value of service to others and learning about the land and lives of their sister school communities. Find out how you can join Positive Planet's Sister School Program.
